Why I Love K-Dramas and Movies
K-Dramas and movies are one of the best ways to escape from the busy and often exhausting pace of everyday life. They allow us to take a break, relax our minds, and step into a completely different world for a while.
But I believe their value goes far beyond simple entertainment.
Great stories help us see life from new perspectives. They introduce us to different people, cultures, and experiences that we may never encounter ourselves. Through these stories, we learn about love, friendship, sacrifice, hope, and the countless emotions that make us human. In that sense, dramas and movies are much like literature—they reflect life itself and often inspire us to think differently about our own.
Watching the lives of fictional characters unfold encourages us to reflect on our own choices, dreams, and relationships. Their journeys become opportunities for us to better understand ourselves and the world around us.
That is why, whenever I have free time, I happily travel into the world of dramas. Sometimes I even find myself thinking, "What would life be like without them?"
If someone asked me, "Do you like watching dramas?" I probably wouldn't answer with a simple yes or no. But looking back, I've watched almost every popular Korean drama over the years. I suppose that means I really am a drama lover.
Whenever I've had a long, tiring day or my mind is overwhelmed with work and daily worries, I turn on a drama. Before I know it, I'm completely immersed in the story. My stress fades away, my headache disappears, and for a little while, the characters' lives become my own.
Like all forms of stress, life's burdens gradually become lighter with time. For me, dramas have always been a meaningful way to heal, recharge, and regain perspective.
That is one of the reasons I decided to create this blog.
I'm sure there are many people who feel the same way. If you're looking for a drama that can help you forget a difficult day, relieve the stress of work, or simply warm your heart, I hope you'll find something worthwhile here.
I am Korean and currently live in South Korea, so I'm very familiar with the dramas that have captured the hearts of audiences here. I've watched most of them myself. However, I don't limit myself to Korean productions. I'm certain there are wonderful dramas and movies from many other countries that I have yet to discover, and I look forward to watching them as well.
From today onward, this blog will be a place where I share the dramas and movies that have moved me the most. I'll introduce not only Korean dramas but also outstanding films and television series from around the world. Along the way, I'll share my thoughts, memorable filming locations, cultural stories, and the emotions each work left behind.
If you have a favorite drama or movie that has stayed with you over the years, I'd love to hear about it.
After all, great stories have the power to cross borders, connect people, and remind us that, despite our differences, we share the same hopes, dreams, and emotions.
Welcome to this journey through the wonderful world of dramas and movies.
